Digital Lives (X3300)

15 credits, Level 6

Autumn teaching

How is technology transforming young people’s everyday lives? How can we support young people to benefit from the digital world, whilst also protecting their safety and wellbeing?

On this module, you’ll focus on the digital lives of young people, from social media to artificial intelligence. Through concepts of identity, relationships and risk, you’ll analyse:

  • how young people can be supported to navigate a digital world
  • the challenges digital technologies present for policy and practice.

You’ll also prepare blogs for practice audiences, developing your communication skills.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.

We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
