Autumn and spring teaching

The module will cover the preparation, completion and presenting of original research in a variety of forms, such as a written dissertation, research posters and oral presentations.

You will attend presentations from external speakers during regular departmental seminar talks. You’ll be further be supported during your research through formal and informal Principle Investigator/group meetings, as well as ad hoc training (such as the use of equipment and software).

You will acquire the skills needed to carry out your research, as well as generate and interpret results independently.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.

We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
