Applied Economics Dissertation (L1002)

Autumn and spring teaching

On this module you undertake a piece of applied research in economics, drawing on appropriate economic theory and empirical techniques to investigate a topic of interest. You can choose from a list of topics and will be provided with supervision by a member of faculty. In addition to supervision there are introductory lectures covering the process of research and writing up. You are expected to collect your own data and to use statistical software to analyse it, based on an suitable theoretical economic framework

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
