Spring teaching

On this module, you’ll develop the communication skills needed to succeed in international relations and development studies.

With a focus on autonomy in academic work, you’ll learn how to:

  • engage with thematic concepts such as security, development, and inequality
  • apply key academic skills, including critical reading, essay writing and vocabulary development
  • practise speaking skills for contributing to seminars and tutorials
  • enhance your autonomy as a learner.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 22 hours of contact time and about 128 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
