Objects, Curation and Display (V4139)

15 credits, Level 4

Spring teaching

This module will provide you with a solid grounding in the importance of attending to the spaces of art’s production, collection, exhibition and display. You’ll explore a wide range of spaces across time and across cultures.

Spaces of art are the overarching theme for the module and you’ll reflect on works of art not only as the consequence of decisions taken by artists, but as objects rooted in specific historical and cultural circumstances and within a network of parties that includes:

  • patrons
  • institutions
  • curators
  • audiences.
