Career Strategies in the Creative Sector (V3054)
30 credits, Level 5
Autumn teaching
The module equips you with the tools and knowledge to create a strategy for starting your career within the creative sector.
Within the module sessions, you will perform tasks and exercises to increase your awareness of your chosen area of the sector. Through varied research methods, you will perform case studies on existing business and organisations, become aware of emerging technologies with the field of practice, and produce an online strategy for networking, self-promotion and finding work.
The module concludes with you initiating and reflecting on a one-to-one conversation with an industry professional. Using this new knowledge and personal insight, you will be in a strong position to manage your future career prospects.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
