Film Post-Production (P4178)

Autumn teaching
On this module, you’ll develop technical and conceptual proficiency in post-production, preparing you for industry roles in:
- editing
- sound design
- colour grading
- basic visual effects (VFX) compositing.
Emphasising the relationship between post-production decisions and narrative, affect, and meaning, the module integrates theoretical perspectives from film aesthetics and sound theory with practical application. You’ll use industry-standard tools, including:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- DaVinci Resolve
- Adobe After Effects
- Adobe Audition.
Workshops and seminars cover:
- narrative continuity
- montage
- audio synchronisation and mixing
- visual refinement
- introductory compositing.
Emphasis is placed on managing professional workflows and platform-specific delivery requirements.
The module will build on your existing skills, supporting your creative independence and portfolio development. It strengthens career readiness by aligning practical competencies with professional standards and critical reflection. This will equip you for:
- post-production roles
- wider screen industry opportunities.
