Film or TV Project (P4179)

60 credits, Level 6

Autumn and spring teaching

On this module, you’ll create a film, documentary or television project that blends the creative, technical and theoretical skills developed throughout your degree. Building on prior development work, you’ll take your project through production and post-production. Your completed piece will be suitable for public exhibition and professional presentation.

The module mirrors industry practice and you’ll adopt defined production roles and manage real-world workflows, including:

  • scheduling
  • budgeting
  • team coordination.

Through this process, you’ll develop a range of transferable skills, including:

  • project management
  • collaborative problem-solving
  • professional communication.

You’ll also engage in critical reflection and theoretical analysis, articulating the cultural, ethical and aesthetic dimensions of your work. The final project and accompanying reflective portfolio will demonstrate:

  • readiness for employment in the screen industries and related creative sectors
  • an ability to work independently and as part of a team in professional contexts.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.

We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
