Media Project CCP (P3094)

60 credits, Level 6

Autumn and spring teaching

This module supports the development, realisation and reflection of an ambitious self-directed project. The emphasis is on:

  • playful exploration
  • casting the net wide
  • researching broadly
  • testing ideas through practice.

You’ll refine and resolve your project, with originality, contextual awareness, and clarity of intent prioritised over polish or production gloss alone. High production values may be appropriate in some cases, but minimal, sharply conceived work can carry greater impact in others.

Sessions mostly take the form of peer presentations and group critiques. Staff will guide discussion, offer feedback, and occasionally nudge, but not direct. Guest lectures will provide important specialist input, relevant to employability and your future, and reflection on them is important. You’re expected to:

  • bring developments each week
  • contribute to peer learning
  • reflect critically on your own criteria for success.

Critical, imaginative and ethically aware uses of AI and other emerging tools are encouraged. You’ll give a short practice lecture on your developing work and submit a ‘showcase’ plan.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.

We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
