Spring teaching
On this module, you’ll gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills for working with young people to explore different justice issues relevant to their lives. You will engage with a range of theories and pedagogical approaches that seek to establish democratic, inclusive and participatory forms of education.
The module emphasises professional responsibility, collaboration, reflective practice and safeguarding of young people. You will research, design and deliver Personal, Social, Health Education (PSHE) sessions with secondary school students. These sessions will focus on building relationships that embrace difference (not discriminate or exclude), through engaging with issues relevant to the young people’s lives and, where relevant, linking local lives to others on the planet.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
