  • fake news
  • the rise of new forms of media content creation
  • how the media report on major crises, like health epidemics or the environment.

You will:

  • gain a critical understanding of how the news media are changing and how they stay the same in the digital era
  • have opportunities to debate issues with members of the industry
  • improve your writing, research and analytical skills and gain experience in writing an engaging and accurate report.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2025/26. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.

We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
