Spring teaching
On this module, you’ll go on a study trip to Rome. You’ll explore the physical and social contexts for the production and consumption of works of visual art in Roman geographical case studies.
You’ll study art in a single city across a broad timeframe (Classical to Contemporary). You’ll focus on the spaces in which art is situated rather than on specific objects in museum collections. You’ll cover how to understand art in its physical context and how to record it.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2025/26. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
