Spring teaching

The module focuses on the ‘foundations of global business law and regulation’. It addresses cutting-edge issues surrounding global business.

Potential topics include:

  • the doctrine of ‘pierce the corporate veil’
  • extraterritoriality
  • cross-border bankruptcy
  • corporate criminal liability.

The module compares and contrasts the laws and regulations in major jurisdictions, including the U.S. China and the EU. It also assesses the landmark cases that have addressed the above challenges.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 22 hours of contact time and about 128 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
