On this module, you’ll

  • work independently
  • understand, integrate and apply theories and concepts from across the programme
  • conduct research at Master’s level 
  • interpret and apply research findings.

Your dissertation will be set in a theoretical framework and will seek to do one of the following:

  • explore an issue in depth using an inductive approach
  • develop and test a hypothesis
  • evaluate a theory against a case.

It will provide critical analysis, synthesis interpretation and application. 

You’ll demonstrate an understanding of your topic and its associated literature and carefully plan, conduct, analyse and interpret your research.

100%: Written assessment (Dissertation)

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 450 hours of work. This breaks down into about 450 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology.
