Environmental Justice Law Clinic

Get free legal advice on environmental justice law matters.

Our Environmental Justice Law Clinic – a Rights of Nature hub – works in collaboration with the Environmental Law Foundation and offers support to individuals and communities in addressing a wide range of environmental concerns, including:

  • The negative environmental impacts of planning applications, such as those arising from housing developments, entertainment venues, and recreational activities, on nature and local ecosystems
  • Harm to conservation areas, protected sites, and other ecologically significant habitats
  • Initiatives to recognise and advance the rights of trees, woodlands and forests, rivers and other ecosystems
  • The protection of wildlife from threats posed by recreation, infrastructure, and roads
  • Issues relating to animal welfare and the emerging field of animal rights.

Through this work, the Clinic helps communities to give nature a voice in law and decision-making, ensuring that environmental harm is challenged, and supporting the intrinsic rights of non-human beings who we treat and respect as subjects of concern in their own right.
