Role

As a Communications Officer at Sussex, I work strategically to support the implementation of communication plans, managing both internal and external channels. I produce high-quality copy and engaging content for websites, newsletters, and social media, including news items and short videos. I also advise on social media and branding, contributing to recruitment efforts and wider strategic objectives.

Prior to my current role, I worked alongside senior staff across various divisions as a Senior Change Communications Officer, supporting University-wide communications on estates and catering procurement initiatives, leading on key projects, and playing a central role in developing communications for campus developments and new systems, including the implementation of Paperless Parking.

Previously, I gained experience working as an Information Coordinator (Communications), UG Placements Coordinator, Alumni Relations Assistant, and Alumni Relations Graduate Intern.

At Sussex, I’ve achieved two promotions and two Discretionary Pay awards. I was also nominated for a Sussex Education Award in 2024.

Outside Sussex, I’ve worked as a Freelance Content Creator, writing articles for Brighton Source, City Girl Network Limited, Revival Collective, and Native.fm. I’ve also worked as an Employment Screening Researcher, EC English Activity Leader and UFA NCS Assistant Team Leader.
