I currently convene and teach the core International Business (735N1) module on the M.Sc International Management degree during the Autumn Term. The main aims of the module are to explore the international business environment in the global economy, and to highlight the roles, strategies and impacts of multinational enterprises. Topics covered include: the international business environment; entry strategies in foreign markets; theories of international trade; trade and commercial policies; the political economy of trade policy; preferential trading arrangements; distance in international business; the internationalization process; theories of international investment; the multinationality-performance relationship; global value chains; entry mode, partner selection, and location choice; MNE strategy & structure; the impact of MNEs on host economies; the impact of MNEs on home economies; MNE financial management; outsourcing, offshoring and the global factory; global marketing and new product development; national competitiveness; the challenge of emerging economies; Industry 4.0 and international business.
