Research

Farai's research interests are in the area of applied microeconomics and include the economics of migration, migrant remittance behaviour, and other development economics topics.

Farai has several single and co-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals. She has also served as a peer-reviewer for the following journals: Oxford Development Studies, International Migration Review, Economics Notes, and Review of Development Economics.

She has also presented her research at international conferences including the Italian Centre for International Development (ICID) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Workshop on International Development (2017), Western Economic Association International (WEAI) (2018), and Royal Economic Society (RES) conference (2018).

Farai also received a Sussex Sustainability Research Programme (SSRP) grant in 2017 as Principle Investigator for a project examining the intersection between food security and migration in Zimbabwe.
