Sussex to host the 2026 UK-China Joint Institute Alliance UK Member Meeting
Sussex is very proud to be hosting the next UK Member Meeting of the UK-China Joint Institute Alliance on 21st and 22nd May with its Joint Institute, the Sussex AI Institute, Zhejiang Gongshang University. The Alliance was established in 2017, co-chaired by the University of Edinburgh and Dongbei University of Finance and Economics with the support of the British Council. The alliance is now made up of representatives from 47 UK universities who run joint institutes in China or who are interested in doing so.
The annual UK member meeting of the alliance provides members with the opportunity to share best practice and receive updates on the latest developments in the field of Chinese transnational education.
The conference will be co-chaired by Professor Sue Welburn, UK Convenor of the Alliance and Executive Dean of Zhejiang University - University of Edinburgh Institute, the University of Edinburgh, and Professor Robin Banerjee, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Global and Civic Engagement, University of Sussex. Attendance is free and registration is open to all with an interest in the Alliance who work at a UK member institute. However, it will be particularly useful for staff who have responsibility for or play a part in delivering TNE in universities.
As well as the keynote and panel sessions that will make up the conference agenda, delegates will also have the opportunity to enjoy more informal networking events at 2 of Brighton’s most iconic tourist landmarks, the Brighton i360 and Brighton Palace Pier. We can’t wait to welcome colleagues from across the UK and China to our beautiful campus and our beautiful city of Brighton.
