CGPE Gender & Global Political Economy Undergraduate Essay Prize

About the Prize

The CGPE Gender & Global Political Economy Undergraduate Essay Prize is awarded annually to honour the best undergraduate essay based on feminist inquiry into global political economy. The winner will be announced in the summer of each academic year, and receive an award certificate and a book prize.

The deadline for receipt of submissions for the 2021/22 prize is 31 May 2022. The winner will be announced in late June.

Conditions of entry

The competition is open to any student currently enrolled as an undergraduate in the School of Global Studies at the University of Sussex.

The essay should be between 2000 and 3500 words in length (excluding references), on any topic related to gender, feminism and political economy.

Submission guidelines

To enter the competition, please submit your essay as a single file (*.pdf/*.doc/*.docx) via email to cgpe@sussex.ac.uk.

Entries will be judged anonymously, so please do not include your name or any other identifying details in the essay file.

Instead, please list the following information in the body of your email only:

  1. your first & last name
  2. your permanent email address 
  3. name of your degree
  4. current year of the degree 
  5. name of School/Department 
  6. title of your essay
