Module Outline
This module provides an opportunity for students to make use of the statistical techniques they are learning on the Statistics for Economists module. Students will be required to submit a project based on their own research, having gathered their own data (either from primary or secondary sources). Students will be able to choose a topic of interest to themselves and will receive supervision during the module of the term.
Module learning outcomes
Have demonstrated a systematic understanding of quantitative techniques appropriate to the study of economics or finance (as appropriate)
Have displayed a knowledge of sources and content of economic information and data, and appreciate their use in research
Have demonstrated the ability to carry out self-directed study and research, understand the limitations and be able to comment upon research outputs.
Have learned to understand the importance of, and be able to construct, rigorous argument to help evaluate ideas, including those at the forefront of research.
