Herritage Orchard Care Session
Wednesday 20 May 13:00 until 14:00
University of Sussex Campus : Campus Heritage Orchard - Behind ACCA and the Library
Part of the series: Heritage Orchard Care Sessions
Join us for a practical outdoor volunteering session focused on maintaining and monitoring the orchard. These sessions are a great opportunity to spend time in nature, learn basic orchard care skills, and contribute to a thriving green space on campus.
Activities may include:
- Weeding around trees
- Feeding and mulching the orchard
- Checking for aphids
- Monitoring for signs of pests and diseases
- General orchard maintenance and seasonal care
No prior experience is needed — guidance and tools will be provided.
The Heritage Orchard plays an important role in supporting biodiversity, pollinators, and sustainable food growing on campus, while also preserving traditional fruit varieties and creating a valuable community space.
