Module Evaluation Questionnaires and PTES 2026

Module Evaluation Questionnaires (MEQs) for your Spring modules opened today (13 April), and we encourage all taught students to take a few minutes to complete them. The surveys will remain open for three weeks. Your feedback helps to shape teaching and learning at Sussex.
The MEQs are one of the most important ways you can tell us what is working well in your modules and where improvements could be made. Your feedback helps tutors understand what supports your learning and how modules can continue to develop. The surveys are anonymous and take around two to four minutes to complete.
If you are taking relevant modules, you will have received an email today with a personalised link to your module survey portal. Alternatively, you can access the surveys through your module Canvas sites by clicking on ‘Module Evaluations’, or by visiting your survey portal here: https://sussex.surveys.evasysplus.co.uk/
Feedback from previous surveys has led to improvements across the University, including clearer assessment guidance and marking criteria, improvements to Canvas and reading list design and navigation, and changes to how seminars and lectures are run. It has also helped departments identify innovative ideas and high-quality teaching practices that other modules can learn from.
Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES)
On Wednesday, postgraduate students will be invited to take part in the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES). This survey asks postgraduate students taking a taught course, for example an MA, MSc, MBA, LLM or PGCE, about their academic experience at Sussex.
Why take part?
The PTES is an opportunity to share your experience as a postgraduate student at Sussex. We are always looking to improve the postgraduate experience, and your responses help us to do that.
As a thank you, students who take part by Friday 12 June will be able to opt in to a prize draw, with five graduation packages worth £150 each on offer. Each package covers gown hire, two guest tickets, and a basic photography package.
Who runs the survey?
The PTES is run by Advance HE through the JISC Online Surveys platform.
How does the survey work?
Eligible students can complete the survey online from Wednesday 15 April 2026.
Postgraduate students will receive an email from the University of Sussex survey team with a link to the survey when it launches, plus reminders during the survey period.
If you access the survey via a web or social media link, you will need your respondent ID (your Sussex email, for example abc123@sussex.ac.uk) and password (your registration number, found at the bottom of your student card and on Sussex Direct).
Data protection
You will not be personally identifiable in the survey data, which will only be shared with the University of Sussex. Your data will be protected at all times.
Your voice matters, and we encourage you to take part in the PTES this year.
You can find more information about PTES here.
