Butterfly and pollinator surveying on the University of Sussex campus
Monday 27 April 13:00 until 16:00
University of Sussex Campus : Forest Food Garden
Part of the series: Nature Sense Monitoring
We are excited to offer the opportunity to take part in surveying butterflies and pollinators on the University of Sussex campus.
On 27th April, volunteers are invited to join an event delivered by Nature Sense on behalf of the University of Sussex, where you will receive training to become a citizen scientist and help track the ups and downs of invertebrate populations across two areas of campus.
During the event, volunteers will be guided in identifying butterflies and key functional groups of insects, recording their observations using the iRecord Butterflies and FIT Count apps. These observations will contribute to Nature Sense’s Sussex‑wide ecological monitoring programme and help us better understand how our local ecosystems are functioning.
This is a fantastic opportunity to meet likeminded people, spend time outdoors, and learn new ecological skills. All are welcome, and no prior knowledge is required.
