The Sussex Food Wallet is a major new initiative from Sussex Uni Food, designed to make campus life easier, healthier and more affordable for students. 

Enhancing the student experience on campus 

Building on our self-catered campus residential offer, the Sussex Food Wallet fills an important gap for students who want reliable, nutritious meals whilst living on campus. It’s equally valuable for commuter students who spend long days here and need convenient, affordable food.  

By offering the kind of flexible, student centred catering solution many applicants now expect, the Sussex Food Wallet strengthens our overall offer, showing that Sussex is investing in the everyday student experience and helping students’ money go further. 

What is the Sussex Food Wallet? 

The Sussex Food Wallet is a prepaid meal package that is loaded via the Time2Eat app. Each package includes bonus credit - up to 25% extra – offering value for money. 

The flagship option, the Semester Boost, is designed to cover roughly one full meal a day plus drinks, with plenty of flexibility.  

And it’s not just for students – staff are welcome to use the Sussex Food Wallet too.  

How it works 

1. Download the Time2Eat app and purchase a Sussex Food Wallet package 

1. Pick your food from any participating outlet 

1. At the till, simply show the Sussex Food Wallet QR code 

1. The meal cost is deducted from your balance 

The process is designed to be fast, intuitive and accessible for all. 

Where it can be used 

The Sussex Food Wallet is accepted at seven outlets across campus: 

• Eat Central 

• ACCA Café 

• Arts Piazza 

• The Veg Bowl 

• Botanical Café in Jubilee  

• Doctors Orders 

• Library Café 

This wide coverage ensures students can always find something convenient, nutritious and affordable wherever they are on campus. 

Please note that the Sussex Food Wallet can only be used at Sussex Uni Food outlets and can’t be used at the IDS café, Falmer Bar, the Pizza Rebellion vending machines, or any other vending machines.

Pricing and packages 

Packages are based on an average daily spend of £8, enough for a hot main and a speciality coffee. Credit lasts until 31 July each academic year (this applies to everyone, including staff), so nothing goes to waste - just make sure you use it before the summer vacation!
