“It is an incredibly honour to become President of the UKLA. I’m proud to lead an organisation that champions research-informed practice and advocates for every child’s right to read, write, and express themselves. During my presidency, I hope to strengthen partnerships between educators, researchers, and communities, and to spotlight the voices of children and young people in shaping what literacy means in their lives today. Together, we can ensure literacy education is inclusive, creative, and transformative.”

It also highlights the University of Sussex’s commitment to educational excellence and its impact on national education policy and practice.
