We’re a vibrant community of faculty, students and practitioners who share a common mission: to make a difference on migration issues linking the Global South and North. We’re delighted that our migration research contributes to being ranked number one in the world for Development Studies for the eighth year running (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024).
Our approach is interdisciplinary and research led. It draws insights from human geography, sociology, politics, development, anthropology and demography. You can delve into topics that interest you most, including integration and cultural diversity, refugees and forced displacement, gender and sexualities of migration, transnationalism, and migration and development.
When you graduate, you’ll have a range of transferrable skills, from critical thinking to writing and researching. You’ll also have key knowledge and practical skills needed in the field. From humanitarian organisations to charities and government bodies addressing migration and refugees, you’ll be well prepared to start your career in a range of sectors.
