Building on existing levels of proficiency at B1+– B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference [CEFR] the module aims to:
- Enable you to understand the main ideas ideas within standard and complex speech and texts and to communicate effectively in the target language (TL) in a variety of contexts;
- Provide opportunities, across a selected variety of topics and themes, for participation in advanced level communicative language activities (e.g. listening, reading, speaking, writing, interaction, and mediation);
- Consolidate and develop the range of complex elements of language structures, syntax, and specialised vocabulary to support consistent accuracy and control in use of the TL;
- Facilitate the exploration, and analysis of a special subject linked to your chosen field of interest.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2020/21. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
