Welcome to Issue 2 of the Open Research Bulletin.
This issue explores timely topics around opendata. The global research community is approaching an important inflexion point in the journey towards open research:open data is transforming from an aspiration to an expected approach to data handling. This expectation applies to research across all fields, even as there may be field-specific considerations in how data is made as findable and as accessible as possible. Yet, challenges and confusions remain. These are addressed candidly by the contributing authors of this issue, who also all provide a range of useful suggestions for how to more easily and consistently make data as open as possible.
