When: Tuesday 27 October, 14:00–15:15 Led by: Pacheanne Anderson, University of Sussex student and curator, with [collaborating researchers TBC]
Description: Led by current Sussex student Pacheanne Anderson, this session brings together researchers working with Black queer histories. They will share their work and their approaches to archiving and creative methodologies.
Pacheanne is a curator whose practice focuses on widening access to art and amplifying underrepresented voices. He curated Transforming Legacies at the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton, which explored decades of Black British art.
Together the speakers will look at who gets to access institutional archives, who gets to author these histories, and how radical, contemporary and creative approaches can help diversify the record.
