The transformative role of Social Accounting
Abstract:
The seminar will introduce the concept of social accounting, which is defined as the universe of all possible accountings through which social, economic and social activities could be measured, calculated and reported on. In particular, we will discuss how these accountings play an important constitutive and performative role in enabling change in the way of seeing, understanding and managing business, society and the environment. A specific case study will be presented, which explores the role of accounting in sustainable water management of a public organisation in Albania.
