The Centre for International Education (CIE) recently launched its latest Annual Report (2025-26) for the past academic year. The report captures important updates over the last year, highlighting CIE's contributions to international and national debates about policy, practice and global relations through its interdisciplinary research, teaching and publications. 

The last year has witnessed radical changes in the development sector and a shift in international and national priorities. In this complex context, CIE is also changing in response to these pressures and engaging more proactively with our research and practitioner communities. Our new Annual Report outlines some of these changes, both through the formation of new partnerships and the consolidation of previous relations.

CIE’s sustained commitment to international collaboration in the pursuit of more equitable futures is captured in the report. More of all this in this report. We hope you enjoy reading it! 

CIE is based in the Department of Social Work, Education and Childhood and Youth Studies within the School of Education and Social Work and is a constitutive part of a cross-university focus on Development Studies that has ranked No.1 globally for 10 consecutive years (2017-2026) by the QS World University Rankings. It is also a University of Sussex  “Centre of Excellence” and recognised internationally as a leading centre in the field of international education and development, with many of our members contributing to key global debates.
