European Testing Week (18-25 May 2026) is a Europe-wide campaign that brings together universities, colleges, student organisations, healthcare services, and community groups to raise awareness about testing for hepatitis, HIV, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Taking place twice a year campaign encourages students and young adults to learn about the benefits of regular testing and early diagnosis.
Since launching in 2013, European Testing Week has grown into a widely recognised initiative involving hundreds of organisations across Europe. The campaign aims to make testing more accessible, reduce stigma, and support informed health choices among diverse communities, including students in higher education.
For universities and student communities, European Testing Week provides an opportunity to promote wellbeing through activities such as awareness campaigns, peer-led conversations, pop-up information stands, and access to local testing services. By participating, institutions can help create supportive environments where students feel confident seeking information, testing, and care when needed.
The campaign is powered by the collective efforts of participating organisations and volunteers, who work together each year to increase awareness and encourage earlier testing across Europe.
