At the end of 2025, 695 of you completed the annual Student Spaces Survey. Responses came from students across all levels of study, offering a snapshot of how you experience campus life, including study spaces, sports facilities and accommodation.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to take part. Your voice makes a difference, and your feedback will be carefully considered to see how we can make campus life even better. Here’s what you told us…
Feeling safe
An overwhelming 97% of you feel safe on campus. There’s always room for improvement and many highlighted better lighting as a key opportunity.
Getting around campus remains is something you think works well too, with 83% finding campus easy to navigate, however you continue to call for clearer signage and more reliable lifts.
Study spaces: a strong asset
Study environments remain a clear strength:
- 81% are satisfied with Library spaces
- 73% with Faculty spaces
- 77% with Student Centre spaces
Your most consistent request? More outdoor seating and additional quiet areas.
Sport and wellbeing
Around 59% of students are satisfied with sports facilities and activities, and 61% say sport is essential to their wellbeing. However, more than a third haven’t used any sports facilities this year.
Student comments point to a desire for low‑intensity wellness activities, accessible scheduling, more variety, and more non-competitive options. For those of you looking for these classes, check out our ActiveUS programme – it offers a broad range of entry-level or low-impact activities.
Food, social life and fun on campus
Eat Central is still your favourite place to grab a bite on campus and you told us you’d like to see later opening hours, more events such as live music, and low‑cost evening meal options.
When it comes to shopping, you’d like to see a larger, cheaper supermarket, more fast‑food options, and shops with everyday supplies. And for entertainment, there were requests for a cinema, arcades and more social events.
Life in student accommodation
Students living on campus report broadly positive experiences:
- 76% rated the application process highly
- 65% felt their accommodation met expectations
- 70% would still recommend living on campus
Feedback highlights both convenience and community benefits, alongside calls for renovations in some accommodation blocks, more social events, and more wellbeing support.
