Intolerance of uncertainty: Is it a transdiagnostic disorder specific construct in GAD, a transdiagnostic vulnerability, or a trans-situational process?
This presentation will address over 30 years of work on intolerance of uncertainty (IU) starting with its role in worry and GAD. Over the years IU has become widely established as a transdiagnostic factor, and more recently as a trans-situational vulnerability factor. It will briefly consider recent theory and transdiagnostic treatments. As a trans-situational factor, we will consider recent work on climate and eco-distress. We will briefly consider current questions and future directions.
