Applications are now open for the 30th anniversary year of the Undergraduate Summer School.
Teaching since 1996, our Summer School is the fourth-longest running programme of its kind in England. For 30 years, we have welcomed students from around the world for a truly impactful academic and cultural experience. We’re now looking forward to returning in 2026 with an expanded range of modules that reflect Sussex’s strengths in research-led and interdisciplinary teaching.
From the Faculty Science, Engineering and Medicine, new modules Translational Neuroscience and Exploring the Brain will give students a unique hands-on experience of MRI medical imaging and clinical practices. Ecology and Conservation will take students into the South Downs and along the South Coast to study biodiversity through fieldwork. Alongside these popular modules from Psychology and Intensive Introductory Physics for Life Sciences will return.
Across the Social Sciences, we’re delighted to introduce Business Law and Human Rights for the first time, giving students insight into the intersections of legal systems, international business and human rights. Climate Justice returnsfor its second year, linked to the new BA Climate Justice, Sustainability and Development - the first of its kind in the UK. Politics modules A Post-Liberal World and The Politics of Crisis will continue to explore some of the most pressing issues of our time.
From the Faculty of Media, Arts and Humanities, students will be encouraged to challenge convention on the British History module, tracing British revolutionaries from Thomas Paine to 20th century punks and ravers. British Cinema invites students to consider how cinema shapes culture and national identity, while Video Games introducescreative approaches to narrative, character design and game dynamic.
The Business School continues to build on its global outlook with modules Engaging Consumers with Sustainability and Accounting and Finance Decision Making with AI. Innovative and Sustainable Finance will deliver experience in our Bloomberg Lab, offering students hands-on training and access to real-time financial data, news and analysis.
The Global Programmes team look forward to welcoming our 2026 cohort and thank the academic and professional services colleagues across campus who support and contribute to the programme each year.
