Active Arches, our brand-new sports and wellbeing studio located next to the Student Centre, is now open.
We're excited to invite all staff to join our Active Staff sessions - designed to help you recharge, stay active, and have fun during your workday.
Lunchbreak workouts
Short on time? Our 45-minute lunchtime classes are perfect for squeezing a workout into your busy day. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, there's something for everyone.
Small weights with Ria – Mondays
Build strength at your own pace with expert guidance. This session focuses on strengthening the whole body for everyday life. Lifting, pushing, pulling, and strengthening the core using kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, power bags and more.
Don’t worry if you have never used these before Ria will guide you through and have you confident in no time. All abilities welcome as there will be options for all.
Yin Yoga with Hannah - Tuesdays and Thursdays
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced practice focused on deep stretching and stillness and is suitable for all levels.
Poses are held for several minutes to support and encourage mindfulness, promoting relaxation, inner awareness, and a sense of calm. Music will support movement and you will be able to find what suits your body using props and breathwork.
Class Times: 1:05pm - 1:50pm
Location: Active Arches, next to the Student Centre
How to book
Non-members: £5 per class
Gold and Silver members: Free
Booking is easy:
- Head to the Sussex Sport booking portal
- Click the person icon and log in using your IT username (e.g. ano123) and password.
- Select a class and add it to your basket.
- Click the shopping trolley icon to check out and confirm your booking.
Top tips:
- Bring a filled water bottle
- Come ready to work out
- Arrive 5 minutes before the start
If you need somewhere to change, use the facilities, or top your water up, head next door to the Student Centre.
