Brighton Dome Concert Hall will come alive on Sunday 28 September at 2.45pm (doors open at 2pm) as the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra launches its 2025/26 season with a thrilling programme of musical giants and an invitation to students to experience it all for just £10.
Internationally acclaimed pianist Junyan Chen will take on Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3, often dubbed the “Everest” of piano concertos for its technical and emotional intensity. The concert also features the wild, imaginative ballet scores of Ravel and Bartók, conducted by the dynamic Joanna MacGregor.
This marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for BPO, following its centenary celebrations last season. With a mission to be a regional orchestra of national significance, BPO is expanding its reach and impact through a vibrant mix of classical staples and global sounds, from Mozart and Mahler to jazz trumpet and Brazilian percussion.
Students and young audiences are at the heart of this vision. Alongside £1 child tickets, BPO has introduced £10 tickets for Under 30s, making world-class music more accessible than ever. The orchestra is also launching initiatives like masterclasses for local pupils, complimentary tickets for state schools, and mentoring for early-career musicians.
Whether you're a seasoned concertgoer or curious newcomer, this is a chance to experience live orchestral music in one of Brighton’s most iconic venues without stretching your student budget.
