Brighton Festival has 25 free events in the programme this year. This is the perfect opportunity for you to take a well-deserved break from studying and have fun on a budget!
Here are a few free events in particular you might enjoy.
An interactive installation all about water – but there's a twist! There’s only 1000 litres of water to play with and once it's gone, it's gone! To keep the fun flowing, you must work together to conserve and recycle water, engaging in a constant challenge against waste and leakage.
St Peter's Square South, 17-18 May, 11am-5pm.
As part of the Sussex Festival of Ideas, Dr. Chris Kiefer and PhD students Steve Symons and Dimitris Kyriakoudis will share their research and help you try live coding music and audiovisuals. Explore how live coding shapes electronic music and Algorave culture. Volks, 18 May, 11am–5pm, FREE drop-in workshops throughout the day, ages 5+.
Prof Pollyanna Ruiz explores Brighton & Hove’s response to far-right threats in 2024, crowdsourcing protest memories to map a powerful visual of resistance. Museum Lab, Brighton Museum, 20–25 May.
Don’t forget – as Higher Education Partner for the Brighton Festival, we often have competitions and ticket offers for Sussex students!
