The University’s Student Funding Team recently launched a new payment system called Sussex Aspire for providing students with financial assistance through the Hardship Fund and Welfare Loans. This system will make it quicker and easier for students to access financial support in an emergency, enabling them to withdraw needed funds into their bank accounts either instantly, or within two hours, depending on their bank.

Benefits of the New System

Students who need financial support will benefit from the speed at which you will be able to access financial support in an emergency. Where the previous system could take up to ten days, the Aspire Cash system will allow students to receive funds either instantly or within two hours, depending on who they bank with.

There are additional benefits for the University, including cost savings which will mean more funds can be spent on students, a reduced administrative burden freeing up staff time to offer more support and increased insight into student use of their funds to helping us better target future awards.
