Keith Jones, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise), wrote to all academic staff on 6 September. You can read the full text of his email below.
Dear Colleague,
Following my message on 18 August, I am writing to remind colleagues of the importance of signing up to the online ‘town halls’ where proposals to modernise academic titles will be discussed. These events will ensure that your voice and views are captured with regard to the proposals and help inform the future job titles of all academics at the University.
It is vital that as many colleagues as possible sign up to next week's town halls to ensure that the views expressed are representative of the community.
The four online events will be held on 14 and 15 September, please sign up to the appropriate meeting below:
- Academic Titles Modernisation Feedback Session – MAH – Thursday 14 September at 11am
- Academic Titles Modernisation Feedback Session – Science – Thursday 14 September at 1pm
- Academic Titles Modernisation Feedback Session – Social Science – Thursday 14 September at 3pm
- Academic Titles Modernisation Feedback Session – Business School and LPS – Friday 15 September at 9.30am
In the interests of openness, you can view further details on the proposals (login required: network username e.g. ABC123, password). Please read this as it contains some important information, but to be clear at this stage the focus of the events will be on the academic titles. Further consultation on the other aspects contained within the paper will happen in due course.
Please take the time to attend the online events. If you are unable to attend, we would still welcome your feedback based on the information in the paper, so please send such feedback to reward@sussex.ac.uk.
Regards,
Keith Jones
