Heightened cyber threat
While the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is not aware of any current specific threats to UK organisations in relation to events in and around Ukraine, there has been an historical pattern of cyber attacks on Ukraine with international consequences. Therefore, the NCSC has called on organisations in the UK to bolster their online defences.
Recommendations include:
Keeping equipment updated with the latest patches that are released.
Protecting passwords and change any if you think they may have been compromised.
Using a password that is unique to your Sussex account and not used anywhere else.
Remaining cautious when sharing information, attackers often send fraudulent (fake, spoofed, deceptive) messages to trick us into revealing information or to deploy malicious software.
