Are you a Black student at the University of Sussex with a passion for literature, culture, or creative events?
We're looking for a dynamic team of Black student curators to join an exciting collaboration between Black at Sussex and the Brighton Book Festival – the festival that amplifies the voices of marginalised authors, we are
'Making Marginalised Mainstream'.
This is your chance to:
Receive professional training and development in cultural programming and event production
Design a major event for the Brighton Book Festival in June 2026
This unique initiative is a powerful model of creative leadership – fostering year-round, sustainable engagement between Black students and one of the most exciting literary platforms in the UK.
Whether you're a writer, reader, organiser, or someone who wants to make space for Black stories and creativity – we want to hear from you!
