Workshops and courses

Our workshops, courses and development resources can help you grow personally and professionally.

Autumn 2020

During the autumn term, OD are offering a number of online workshops for staff.  View and book a place on our webinars on our autumn term calendar.

Online courses are a time-efficient and convenient way to learn about a range of subjects. We have a range of e-learning programmes available to all staff which you can access all year round. Please visit our staff online learning page for details.

Is there a charge for attending?

All of our courses and online programmes are free to Sussex staff.

Late cancellation

Late cancellations that leave seats empty have considerable cost implications for the University and remove opportunity for other staff members who might wish to attend. Given this, a late cancellation fee of £50 will be charged to your school or division if you cancel your booking within three days of the course start date.

Exceptions may be made for illness, evidenced by your line manager or doctor’s note, or a family emergency. We are happy for you to substitute your place as long as you notify us before the course commences.

Planning your development

Visit our planning your development pages to learn more about mentoring at the University of Sussex and the other ways that we support professional development, including

  • appraisals processes
  • AUA staff development
  • job shadowing
  • staff apprenticeships
  • staff induction
