Student Life Centre

The network of support services at Sussex includes the Student Life Centre (SLC). The SLC is based at the heart of campus and here a team of specially trained advisors are available to offer you information, advice and guidance. Support is available both for practical matters – like student finance (loans, budgeting, Scholarships and Bursaries) and University procedures in general – and also for all Personal concerns, so someone is always there to offer help whatever the issue.

The support available from the SLC complements the other services provided at the University so we also offer guidance on how to access more specialist types of support. The SLC is open Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. For more information: www.sussex.ac.uk/studentlifecentre

Psychological and Counselling Services

The PCS team includes seven permanent therapists, two administrative staff and an additional 25 post-qualified and trainee counsellors.  Each year, over 900 students are seen for counseling, either individually, in therapy groups, or in workshops offering strategies for managing mood.

Student Support Unit

The Student Support Unit is the base for the University's Dyslexia, Disability, Mental Health and ASD support services. We are located in Pevensey 1 on North South Road.

Reception is open from 09.00 to 17.00 from Monday to Thursday and from 09.00 to 16.00 on Fridays.

We offer support and advice to prospective and current students with specific learning difficulties, unseen, mobility and sensory impairments, mental health conditions and autism spectrum disorders.

International Office and Study Abroad Office

The International & Study Abroad Office provides services to international students who are applying to Sussex and those already studying at the University, and administers exchange programmes between Sussex and its partner institutions in North and South America and Europe (including those under SOCRATES/ERASMUS)

Student Union Advice and Welfare

The Advice & Representation Centre can give you free, independent and confidential information, advice and support on a range of academic and non-academic issues.

We have professional advisers and elected student representatives and the service is completely confidential, independent from the University and no issue is too big or too small for us to deal with.
