Who to look with

As we know that looking for housing can be daunting, the Housing Office team can help you in a number of ways.  Ideally, searching for properties is easier if you are in a small group of 3-6 students.  But don't worry if you haven't found your group yet, you're not on your own, and can find others via:

Sussex University House Hunt - we manage this Facebook group and if you join it you can find Sussex students looking for others to look for properties together, or also to advertise a spare room and more - lots of useful info too and we'll answer your messages quickly.

If you are arranging to meet other Sussex students we would always advise caution, ask to see their Student Card, meet on campus in a public place like a coffee shop and get to know each-other.  The majority of Sussex students search for properties for the forthcoming September between January - May each year when there is a good supply.

Pop into the Housing Office, first floor, Bramber House on campus.  The Housing Office team can read over your tenancy agreement with your group before you sign and pay any money to ensure all is okay.  Students also advertise spare rooms in reception on our notice board, together with others noting that they are looking for a group to join. We also provide a list of letting agents.

The Advice and Representation Centre of Sussex Students' Union can also read over tenancy agreements and provide advocacy.
