The Housing Office provides details of property available from landlords registered with the University via an on-line database, Yourstudentpad. Properties available include self-contained houses or flat-shares with other students and there are also bedsits or rooms with resident landlords and families.
Please note that, although we visit a proportion of properties listed with us, we cannot inspect them all, so make sure you are happy with what you see before you sign a binding agreement. This site is run in conjunction with the University of Brighton site, thus giving access to a wider range of landlords to all students.
There is a message board on the Yourstudentpad site where students can get together with others looking or contact those with spare rooms available. You can also search for Sussex University House Hunt on Facebook to meet other students looking for private sector and to receive instant advice and gudiance from the Housing Office.
Code of Standards and how it will help you:
All landlords registered with us on Yourstudentpad have now signed a Code of Standards which lists professional good practices for landlords to abide by. Any complaints made under the Code about a landlord will be thoroughly investigated and dealt with. This means that if you live in a YourstudentPad property, you can raise any issues with the Landlord directly, or if you prefer to make a complaint or comment, please contact the Housing Office, and the team will investigate and help you: housing@sussex.ac.uk
