Room bookings and Events

If you are organising an event please contact global@sussex.ac.uk to discuss room bookings and catering arrangements. Please note that notice is required when booking catering and a risk assessment will need to be completed for any events over 25 people. Please contact the Information Coordinator if you would like support advertising your event, see below for further details. 

External Speakers

If you are a member of staff or a University of Sussex student and are intending on having an external speaker at a University event, you must complete an external speaker procedure.

Current school catering suppliers

Alternative catering suppliers

If you require an alternative provider please confirm they are available for your dates and provide us with the details of your order. The school office can organise payment on your behalf. Please note: we cannot pay via bank transfer, please check that your chosen caterer can be paid via credit card before confirming your order.

Tea & coffee only

The school can provide a tea and coffee trolley to cater for events up to 30 people. The trolley includes two coffee machines, a large kettle, a selection of coffee and tea, sugar, mugs and spoons. We can provide milk, plant-based alternatives and biscuits. The trolley is only available for events hosted on the ground floor of Arts C (C114, Dhaba café and GSRC). It costs £20 for up to 30 people.

Communications 

Please contact Maria if you require support with advertising your event. We can help with social media posts and poster design or circulation. We can publish your event on the news pages, the school social media sites and the weekly newsletter. Please note, if you require a poster please try to give one week notice prior to the day the poster is required for.

After you have booked your event via global@sussex.ac.uk, you could promote this via the School of Global Studies Calendar. Use this calendar as an advertisement tool, to let us know about your event so we are aware of it.
