(2013 entry)
Standard lower rate and foundation year: £13,000 per year
Standard higher rate: £16,200 per year
BM BS in Medicine: £24,860 per year
The fees quoted are for the academic year 2013/14. Note, however, that fees increase on an annual basis. Each degree listed at Undergraduate courses 2013 shows if the standard lower rate or the standard higher rate applies.
Joint courses
For joint courses where the two subjects fall within different fee rates (for example the BA in English and Media Studies), fees will be charged at the higher rate. For courses with a minor component (for example the BA in Psychology with American Studies), fees will be set according to the fee level of the major subject.
For information about study abroad and professional and industrial placement year fees, visit Undergraduate courses 2013.
Fee setting for overseas students remains the responsibility of individual institutions.
Students classified as ‘overseas’ are required to pay tuition fees at the overseas rate, and we ask that before registering as a student, you provide evidence of your ability to pay the fees and to support yourself financially.
The annual fees include registration, tuition and examination fees, but do not include items such as accommodation, extracurricular language tuition, use of the sports facilities, membership of clubs and societies, photocopying, and printing from computers. For more information about additional costs, refer to Living expenses and Other costs.
Fees are due for payment before the start of the autumn term of each academic year of your course. Options are available to pay in instalments by credit or debit card. If a recognised sponsoring organisation is responsible for payment of your tuition fee, an award or sponsor letter acceptable to the University must be submitted before the start of your course. Educational institutions, government bodies or corporate sponsors are acknowledged by the University as recognised sponsoring organisations. If you are in any doubt as to whether you are a self-financing or a sponsored student, contact our Head of Fees and Income (E m.h.sherlock@ sussex.ac.uk).
All fees are liable to review and change without notice and to increase each year over the duration of your course.
Students from outside the UK and eligible EU states will not normally be entitled to support for tuition fees or living costs from the UK Government. For full details of funding opportunities, visit Search funding opportunities.
