Access to Learning Fund
You may be entitled to Government money via the Access to Learning Fund (ALF). Funding is available to full- or part-time postgraduate students who are from the UK (although EU-assessed students on part-time courses may also be elligible for help with fees). The fund is targeted at students who are unable to top up their own funds sufficiently through work, for example because they have dependents, disabilities or are in their final year.
Download the Access to Learning Fund: Information for Schools and Departments [DOCX 16.41KB] for more details.
Fees and funding for the MA in Social Work
Bursaries are available for most MA in Social Work students who are normally resident in England. Fees are paid by the NHS Business Services Authority. Some students seek secondment from a local authority. Financial support in these cases is payable by the seconding authority. Therefore, you will need to contact the relevant training section of your local authority for further information.
